Agent comparison table

Choose up to four agents and compare receptors, molecule type, route, dosing frequency, starting and maximum label doses, first and latest FDA approval dates, pivotal-trial weight change with PubMed id, and the most common adverse reactions from each label's placebo-controlled table. Every cell names its source.

Choose up to four agents

Pick at least one agent above, or use a preset. The table shows what each label and pivotal trial actually report; it does not rank agents or recommend one.

Trial percentages come from different trials with different populations, durations and statistical methods. A number in one column is not directly comparable with the number beside it; the only fair head-to-head is a trial that randomized both agents (SURPASS-2 for tirzepatide against semaglutide 1 mg; SURPASS-CVOT for tirzepatide against dulaglutide). Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA approved and are not represented by these label numbers; for the FormBlends products see semaglutide and tirzepatide.

Formulashown in full, nothing hidden
placebo-adjusted change (pts) = drug arm % change - placebo arm % change
excess adverse-reaction rate (pts) = drug arm % - placebo arm %
years since approval = whole years from the Drugs@FDA approval date to today
most common adverse reactions = label table rows sorted by drug-arm rate, top 3

Every figure is copied from the source named in the cell: the current prescribing information for label facts, Drugs@FDA for dates, and the PubMed abstract for trial results. Nothing is modelled or pooled across trials.

Assumptions, checked September 4, 2026

  • Approval dates are the submission status dates in Drugs@FDA or the date on the FDA approval letter. Supplement contents were read from the letter where one is posted.
  • Adverse-reaction rates are from the placebo-controlled pool in each label and are reported for the highest labelled dose column unless the label pools doses. The label warns that rates from different trials cannot be compared directly.
  • Pivotal weight change is the mean percent change from baseline for the highest dose arm in the trial named, as stated in the abstract. For SCALE the percent is derived from kilograms.
  • Investigational agents have no FDA label. Their rows show what has been published, not what will be approved.
  • Discontinued means Drugs@FDA lists the product as discontinued on the date checked; the approval itself remains on the record.
  • Compounded GLP-1 products are not FDA approved, are not interchangeable with brand products, and are not covered by these label numbers.
